Continuous beeps with ram in 2nd slot! Help!

Continuous beeps with ram in 2nd slot! Help pls !!! I have a Gigabyte H81m-d2v motherboard , after changing thermal path , and if I insert a ram stick into the first slot closest to the cpu socket with nothing in the second slot, it will boot up and run fine. However, since I have 2 ram sticks, if I put one in the second slot, I will get continuous beeps and restarting pc . Please help.
